Beverly was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, but spent most of her time growing up in the Gresham Park community in east Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating high school as her class Salutatorian, she attended the University of Georgia, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1976. Beverly continued her studies at the University of Tennessee while also teaching underclassmen. She published her thesis and earned a Master of Science in Mathematics in 1978.
After graduation, Beverly began a 37 year career in the Telecommunications Industry. During that time she worked for Southern Bell, BellSouth, and AT&T, holding a variety of positions in the Forecasting, Planning & Engineering, Science & Technology, and Capacity Management departments. She retired from AT&T in 2016.
Beverly has been an active member of several churches over the years. She has served in their children and youth ministries, co-led youth retreats, taught Bible studies, and been a leader in women’s ministry and outreach.
Beverly is a member of Ciloa’s Board of Directors, a position she has held since the ministry’s formation in 1997. She has served as Chairman of the Board and is Ciloa’s first and, to date, only Chief Financial Officer. Beverly has participated in Ciloa advisory committees, assisted in the development of the EON! (Encourage Others Now) small group study and accompanying material, and has authored several Notes of Encouragement.
Beverly married her high school sweetheart, Chuck, in March of 1978. Together they have raised two sons and a daughter. Their family has now added a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and two wonderful grandchildren. In addition to her Ciloa responsibilities, she is enjoying “the best job ever” of being Gigi to her grandchildren. Beverly and Chuck live in Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA.
