Take The Stand By Charles B. Graham

At home, at work, in church, and in the community at large, Christians face a daily struggle between doing what God commands and what the world expects. Taking a Biblical stance at the office can peg workers as "religious fanatics." Praying in restaurants can result in bemused smiles and wisecracks from onlookers. The Sunday morning veneer of Christianity often disappears on the way out of the parking lot in a sea of impatient churchgoers jockeying for position.

The frequent result is a casual Christianity which brands all Christians as hypocrites and Christianity as a sham. On the golf course, on the factory floor, in the board room, or in the kitchen, Christians -- for better or worse -- are the vehicles through which a lost world sees Christ.

In Take the Stand, Charles Graham gives encouragement to act like Christians in every part of our lives, and to take advantage of every opportunity to witness in the name of the Lord. Our command is not to be rich or popular or self-sustained, but to follow Him.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16
